Rad Fat Tire Wheel Lock and Security Chain installation instructions

The Rad Fat Tire Wheel Lock can be mounted any Rad Power Bike with fat tires (Runner, Rover, Mini, Expand). The Security Chain is sold separately.

 TIP!

Please record your key number when you get your wheel lock. Store it in a safe place for reference in case you lose your key later. Contact Rad Power Bikes Customer Support (links at bottom of this page) for replacement.

 TIP!

Your bike's paint may slightly encroach on the wheel lock mounting points. If it does, we suggest threading your wheel lock mounting bolts slowly and carefully through the frame mounting points before mounting your lock. Once the paint is out of your way, you can remove the bolts and then install your wheel lock.

 WARNING:

If you are not confident in your ability to successfully and safely perform all steps, including any wheel removal and re-installation (necessary for some ebike models), have the work performed or checked by a local, professional, reputable bike mechanic. Failure to properly secure a wheel can lead to accidents, serious injury, or death.

  1. Get the bike ready for maintenance. Turn off the bike, remove the battery, and press and hold MODE (or the power button) to discharge remaining power.
  2. Click HERE to access the installation instructions.
  3. Once the Fat tire Wheel Lock is installed, reinstall the battery, test the bike fully, and ride Rad!
