Our recommendation for a child seat is the Thule Yepp Maxi Child Seat, which has been tested for compatibility and verified as safe to use with our bikes.
This seat has been designed for children 9 months to 6 years or up to 48.5 lbs*
The RadCity fits one Yepp Maxi Child Seat without modification.
The RadWagon fits two Yepp Maxi Child Seats mounted to the Rear Cargo Deck alone or along with the 2018/2019 Caboose accessory.
*A child transported on the back of the RadRover or RadMini must weigh 40.5 lb or less since the Thule Yepp Maxi Seat weights approximately 4.5 lb and the RadRover and RadMini rear racks have a 45 lb weight capacity.
Notice: The use of certified and approved child seating and equipment is required whenever carrying children. Increased weight from passengers will increase the time it takes to slow the bike when braking, please plan your stops accordingly. Ensure both front and rear brakes are properly adjusted, maintained, and applied. Ensure that rider and the child passenger are wearing a properly fitted and approved bicycle helmet.
You MUST hold onto the bike whenever loading cargo. The kickstand is not designed to be used for loading cargo. Do not assume the bike is stable and balanced when using the kickstand. Always hold onto the bike when cargo is being loaded, in place, or attached to the bike by Rad Power Bikes.
Never leave the bike unattended with children on the bike. Ensure children are removed from the bike before you look away or walk away from the bike, otherwise the bike could tip over and cause serious injury to your most precious cargo.
If you do not have the experience, skill, and tools to securely install and adjustment the child seat(s) on your bike, Rad Power Bikes highly recommends having a certified, reputable bike mechanic do so and ensure the bike is safe to ride.
